Biography
Dr. Fan joins the Program in Public Health as an assistant professor of teaching in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics. She recently earned her doctoral degree in epidemiology, following a Master’s in biomedical and translational science, both from UC Irvine. Her research focuses on risk factors for cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic conditions, optimizing heart disease prevention, and promoting healthy behaviors. Her outstanding teaching achievements include winning the Outstanding Teaching Award during her doctoral program. With a medical degree and clinical training in China, Dr. Fan brings a wealth of experience to our team.
Research Interests
Exploring risk factors associated with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease among patients with chronic conditions, optimizing lipid management for heart disease prevention, and advocating for healthy behaviors to enhance cardiovascular health.
