The Winter 2025 Scholarship Cycle is currently open for the Barbara Epstein-Williams Scholarship & the H&H Lee Charitable Foundation Scholarships.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide support for global health travel awards for students pursuing a PhD to participate in research projects abroad.
Award Information
These travel awards can be used, but are not limited to, financial assistance for travel, research expenses, and student health requirements (e.g. required vaccinations related to participation). This scholarship must cover research projects and expenses not already funded by another project or source.
The funding package includes $5,000.
If students have applied for and accepted Financial Aid loans or Work-Study awards and subsequently receive any fellowships, the additional support may affect their eligibility for need-based financial aid. Students should contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to determine if their eligibility will be affected.
Students should review the terms of any funding that they have accepted for the 2024-2025 academic year to ensure that they are eligible to receive additional fellowship funding.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be a PhD student in good standing and enrolled full-time in Wen Public Health.
- Nominees must be U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, International student or AB540 student.

The scholarship is intended to support graduate students who are conducting research (or working with faculty) that focuses on community engagement and health equity. Late or incomplete nomination packets will not be reviewed.
