UCI Postdoctoral – Social Epidemiology

Dr. Tim Bruckner is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Joe C. Wen School of Population and Public Health, UC Irvine, to contribute to two projects. The main project investigates structural, economic, and policy causes of racial disparities in stillbirth and live birth outcomes in the US, using a dataset of ~70 million records to analyze racial trends in preterm birth and infant mortality. The secondary project examines the impact of delayed childbearing in Denmark, exploring effects on health, education, labor market outcomes, and societal costs.

This one-year fellowship, with potential renewal, requires a Ph.D. before the start date, negotiable as early as April 2025.

Population Health and Disease Prevention

Project Scientist, Behavioral Medicine Research Lab – UCI

The Department of Population Health and Disease Prevention invites applications for a full-time Project Scientist who will serve as the Manager of the Biobehavioral Shared Resource (BBSR) of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (https://cancer.uci.edu/bbsr). The BBSR supports cancer researchers with expertise and services in planning, conducting, and dissemination of translational biobehavioral research. This includes providing consultation on behavioral and/or quality-of-life patient-reported outcome measurements, research design, data collection, interpretation of self-report data, manuscript preparation, and counseling interventions within clinical trials. The BBSR has participates in translational research in psychoneuroimmunology, examination of behavioral issues that enhance recruitment and compliance within cancer center clinical trials, and development of behavioral and quality-of-life outcomes associated with clinical trials.
