Dedicated Faculty & Staff to DEI
As the Associate Dean for DEI, Ramirez is leading schoolwide strategic efforts to infuse diversity, equity and inclusion into our research, teaching and service missions. She is guided by the DEI strategic plan, and will pursue efforts to create culturally responsive and inclusive policies, structures and supports to advance our school’s pursuit of justice and equity in public health.
As our Equity Advisor, LeBrón, participates in faculty recruitment by approving search strategies and raising awareness of best practices in diversity, organizing faculty development programs, with both formal and informal mentoring, and addressing individual issues raised by women and underrepresented minority faculty.
As our DECADE Mentor, Sparks works with personnel in the Graduate Division to promote active mentoring and programmatic activities for a diverse doctoral population. Wen Public Health aims to increase the number of minorities and women underrepresented in their disciplines receiving doctoral degrees at UCI.
