The 17th International Congress of Behavioral Medicine (ISBM) convened in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with local and global experts to discuss the challenges communities face and the role of behavioral medicine to address them. It is not only the theme of the conference that is riveting to share, but also the recognition of one of our own faculty members: Michael Hoyt, PhD, is a clinical health psychologist and professor of population health & disease prevention in UC Irvine’s Program in Public Health. Dr. Hoyt received the ISBM Distinguished Career Contributions Award for his leadership in the field of behavioral medicine and research in cancer survivorship. His distinguished contributions at both a national and regional level have pushed the needle on behavioral medicine’s positive impact.

“I am very humbled to be recognized by my peers in the field with this recognition and eager to contribute to the future of behavioral medicine,” says Hoyt. “UC Irvine continues to build a powerful legacy in behavioral medicine. I am proud to play a part in this strong tradition.”
