At our honors and award ceremony on Friday, June 16, the following community organizations were honored as outstanding site-of-the-year for going above and beyond to mentor and support our students while providing much needed resources and support to communities at large.
For undergraduate outstanding site-of-the-year, the Veterans Legal Institute was recognized for their pro bono legal assistance to homeless, at risk, disabled and low income current and former service members to eradicate social determinants of health barriers like housing and employment.
Diana Garcia, Volunteers Manager and Paralegal, accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
For graduate outstanding site-of-the-year, the SCAN Health Plan was recognized for their ability to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care to older adults. With the rising number of older adults, SCAN is keeping more seniors healthy and independent than ever.
Allen Suh, Director of Service Segmentation Strategy, was unable to attend the ceremony but has accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
