This year, as part of National Public Health Week, we hosted a Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series on Advancing Nutrition Equity in the 21st Century. The panel of nutrition experts, consisting of Denise Diaz Payán, PhD, MPP, Karen L Lindsay, PhD, Evelyn Gonzalez ’12, MS, RDN, and Matthew J. Landry, PhD, RDN, FAND, was moderated by Dean Bernadette Boden-Albala, MPH, DrPH. The panel emphasized the urgent need for nutrition research and food innovation to promote equity in nutrition, both locally in Orange County and globally. They discussed the importance of collaboration and technology-driven approaches in improving food access and eating behaviors. The event was attended by a diverse audience and provided valuable insights from the latest research studies and initiatives.
