Congratulations to doctoral candidate Brook Jeang for being awarded the Rose Hill Foundation Science & Engineering Fellowship, administered by the UCI Graduate Division. This is the third year in a row that Brook has received this fellowship, which recognizes and rewards UCI’s most meritorious graduate students who are pursuing a degree in the life or natural sciences, or engineering.
Brook is pursuing her PhD degree in Public Health, with a concentration in Global Health, under the mentorship of Guiyun Yan, PhD, professor of population health and disease prevention and Veronica Vieira, DSc, professor of environmental and occupational health. Her dissertation research focuses on evaluating surveillance tools and methods for characterizing the infectious reservoir of malaria in western Kenya.
The fellowship is awarded annually to underrepresented students in STEM fields who have demonstrated academic excellence and accomplishments, financial need, and leadership qualities consistent with the mission of the Rose Hills Foundation, which is to represent, develop, and support our future leaders.
