Announcement
Bernadette Boden-Albala
Director and Founding Dean
I am excited to announce to the UCI Community that the Program in Public Health has reached an important milestone on our journey and transition to the planned School of Population and Public Health. The UCI Academic Senate has endorsed and the Provost has approved three new departments under our program to join the current Department of Population Health and Disease Prevention.

We are thrilled to welcome our colleagues from the School of Medicine into Public Health. The formation of our new departments brings together a world-class faculty of public health teachers, researchers, and practitioners committed to enhancing health, equity, and well-being locally and globally. We are dedicated to providing our students with a brilliant curriculum led by experts from core disciplines of Public Health at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. My leadership team (Dr. Scott Bartell, Dr. Karen Edwards, Sharon V. Robert, Dr. Miryha Runnerstrom, Thomas Stevenson, and Chuck Villanueva) and I are delighted to introduce the department chairs in the Program in Public Health.
