This talk will focus on the impact of a new approach- a proactive model- on the resilience of healthcare emergency response following the Van earthquakes. This model is expected to reduce risk in major and vulnerable cities such as Istanbul.

Kurtulus Aciksari
Kurtulus Aciksari Emergency Medicine Department, Istanbul Medeniyet University
Dr. Kurtulus Aciksari is the Head of the Emergency Medicine Department and responsible for the emergency medicine residents training program in Istanbul Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital. From 2013-2015, he worked in the Health Directorate of Istanbul, Department of Disaster and Emergency Services. He was responsible for medical response planning in the Disaster Response Plan of Istanbul and National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) training program.
