Orange County’s Healthier Together – A new resource for public health data and information by Jane Chai, MPH

Seminar Abstract

Orange County has a new interactive and easy to navigate website that allows anyone to find data and information about health and wellness in Orange County. This presentation will share features available on the website including a dashboard of more than 170 indicators related to the health of Orange County, a database of 137 demographic items, and tools for data analysis and report writing. We will also briefly discuss the Orange County Health Improvement Plan, which highlights county-wide collaborative efforts to address key community health priorities like obesity and diabetes, infant and child health, older adult health and mental health and substance abuse issues.

Jane Chai, MPH Public Health Projects Manager, Orange County Health Care Agency
Jane Chai is the Public Health Projects Manager at the Orange County Health Care Agency. She holds a Master in Public Health from the UCLA School of Public Health in the field of community health sciences. She earned her bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley in Social Welfare and Political Science. Ms. Chai has worked in the field of public health for almost 20 years and in community health planning for the past 11 years; eight of those years were in HIV/AIDS. Prior to her work with the Health Care Agency, Jane had worked with various community based organizations in Southern California focusing on reproductive health and Asian-American community health. In her current position, Jane coordinates the Public Health Services division’s efforts around community health planning, strategic planning, quality improvement, and workforce development.
