UCI Public Health PhD student, Amanda R. Brown Tortorici accepted into American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney TREKS program - Public Health News Spotlight

UCI Public Health PhD student, Amanda R. Brown Tortorici accepted into American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney TREKS program. The week-long research based course will be held at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine this summer. She will be provided a travel stipend, tuition, and room and board as well as an additional $800 stipend to attend their annual conference, Kidney Week, in Chicago.

The American Society of Nephrology Kidney TREKS program (Tutored Research and Education for Kidney Scholars) provides medical students interested in nephrology opportunities for research training and mentoring with established renal faculty and nephrologists. One component of the Kidney TREKS program is Origins of Renal Physiology:MS1, a one-week intensive laboratory summer short course held at the MDI Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine.

The workshop aims to engage, inspire, and support faculty members from across disciplines who are interested in voluntarily infusing relevant climate change and/or sustainability concepts into their courses.

OC-PICH on Garden Grove TV - Public Health News Spotlight

Garden Grove TV produces news story on a new exercise equipment installation which was co-sponsored by OC-PICH and featured UCI Public Health students Dhruvi Chauhan, Manny Sagarnaga and Rintu Saju. The new exercise equipment was installed at the northeast corner of Eastgate Park in Garden Grove. This is the 3rd installation of it's kind in the City designed to provide easy access to exercise for local residents and visitors.
